The Meat & Wine Co Circular Quay-Circular Quay-Gareth Jones

We went there for my Son’s 20th Birthday. When you book they ask if its for a special occasion.
We were one of the first to arrive for a 6PM booking.
We were 3 and were taken to a table for 4. We asked if we could have a booth where 3 could communicate better.
We receive a stern No Sorry – all booked. The male waiter, (who later told us he was the manager) was uncompromising and quite arrogant – Zero Customer/communication skills. My wife spotted a more suitable table for two and asked if we could have the table with an additional chair. The guy agreed but it seemed to be quite put out.
The same guy came wit table water and asked if we wanted drinks. We asked for a glass of Moet to which we received a reply “We don’t have glasses and we have bottles and there aren’t any small ones – only big bottles”.
When we suggested that as they had no small bottles wouldn’t it be reasonable to offer it by the glass we were greeted with a very unaccommodating “No”.
At that stage my feeling were – This guy is rude – he needs lessons in Customer Service. If he is the Manager he should go back to school!
The food was great and the Fillet and New York were excellent. We got our bill and at no stage did the staff acknowledge that it was my Son’s Birthday.
What’s the point in asking when you book?
We won’t go back!
