My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Meat and Wine Co Barangaroo. The entrée tasting platter was a great way to start the meal. The Rib Eye steaks were some of the best I’ve had. I ordered rare and it was super tender. The Grand Finale dessert platter was a great way to try all of the desserts and end the meal. This place also suits the red wine lover and there is an extensive selection to choose from. We had the Yalumba shiraz and it paired well with the steak, but I would probably choose a different red wine for the next visit. We also ordered Gin & Tonic and it was well made with Archie Rose Australian gin. The ambience was great – I felt really comfortable in our seats and our table (I’m pretty sure that’s not the wine talking). It was a full house that night, however I wasn’t distracted by other tables’ conversations. The background music playlist was a great selection that night (with the likes of John Mayer, Hall & Oates and Boz Scaggs) and the music wasn’t so loud that it detracted from our table’s conversations. The service was efficient and friendly and also I’m quite impressed all of our mains were delivered at the same time. They also did a small surprise for my birthday by adding a candle to the dessert platter which was a nice touch. The only minor issue I think would be that we filled in a booking confirmation survey and stated that we had a nut allergy in our party, however this wasn’t taken into account initially when our orders were taken and we had to let our server know about the nut allergy verbally. Once we let her know thankfully she took care of it and let us know which dishes contained nuts.Overall, with the service, ambience and quality of the dishes, a visit to a Meat & Wine Co restaurant is great value if you’d like a fancy dinner out with family and friends. We are planning our next visit to another Meat & Wine Co soon.
