Mixed feelings

My partner and I booked earlier in the day and they could only fit us in quite early evening and on a table inside which was fine and understandable for a busy restaurant. When we arrived they were able to upgrade us to a table outside instead which we were totally thrilled about! (Turned out they actually just had slightly less bookings then they had suggested when on the phone, or perhaps they had received some cancellations, who knows!) Our waiter was really lovely, possibly quite new as it seemed that he was being shown a few things on the till system that was quite close by, but he was putting in a lot of effort to make us feel comfortable. Sadly both of our wagyu steaks were overdone by probably 1.5 levels which was a little disappointing. They were super tasty cuts of meat and luckily they had the additional fat content in them to help keep them juicy, but for a restaurant that specialises in steak this was a bit unfortunate. They also forgot part of my order which I then chased half way through the meal that then took a further 10 minutes to arrive so was sadly only placed on the table when we had more or less finished the rest of the meal. Totally appreciate that this happens sometimes but you could tell that this element had then been rushed and probably wasn’t as good as it should have been. They also didn’t check how our food was whilst we had it and took quite a long time to clear our plates and top up our wine throughout the evening. The view was incredible. 10/10. The wine we had was totally delicious. The side salad to the steak blew me away. But sadly the rest of the food didn’t leave either of us with the same wow factor.
