Haven’t been to this Hunter & Barrel before, only to Whitfords City (when it was open). It was good there so we had high expectations. Entrees were good, particularly tacos. Cheese dip could have had a stronger cheese flavout. Mains were disappointing. Husband asked for medium steak, came out as rare-med rare. Sent it back for a re-cook and was still underdone. My reuben sandwich has a microscopic amount of sauerkraut in it. I didn’t mind the cheesecake, maybe because main was so underwhelming. Husband didn’t like it. Overall was ok but no rush to return. Service was okay, but staff were very annoying, we were probably asked over 10 times whether our food was okay. And they tried apologising for the steak a handful of times as well. It was a bit too much.
