So disappointed with the food and service yesterday night. Although our waitress was very friendly she was completely unaware it was mine and my twin’s birthday and we were supposed to be given a complimentary cake by the restaurant, only to be told by the waitress and manager and that the restaurant does not even offer that option. This was very surprising as I confirmed a day before via phone with a staff member that this will be given to us and also wrote it in our booking confirmation.
The food was very tasteless and flavourless also and the manager dismissive and defensive of the error + kept repeating how the call I made to the restaurant was to the “central service” station but yet the Meat and Wine Co Canberra number is the one I called as the number was listed online and the person who answered claimed she was from there also.
This is very misleading to the customer and makes me wonder how would a customer know who to call for any information about the restaurant then?
The manager then kept going how he will “get us cake now” (as a recompensation for the mistake) which sounded very forced and sadly our mood had been ruined by the events by now anyway so we simply wanted to leave.
If I could give a no star rating, I would.
I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be coming back anytime soon
